Don't know if any of you noticed, but I have been up most of the night
working on the last minute details of a joint seminar for work. We have
about 120 folks coming tomorrow and I did the programs and the name tags
and such. I also got to read new posts from Polly and Pat and a few others
who were also awake. Spent some time around the cyber quilting frame giving
and taking hugs, but never did get the plate of cookies and heaven knows
where my wine glass ended up!

But, this morning, I just stopped doing everything for a few minutes and
looked at the sunrise out my quilting room window. I recently risked life
and limb to hang a few bird feeders in the pine tree that has now grown
taller than our second story. Then, I heard a wonderful little bird song.
The feeders had attracted three tiny yellow finches and one beautiful red
headed bird - all singing to each other, sharing their seed. Just like it's
supposed to be. Like I said, it's going to be a good day! I hope yours is
as wonderful!

What a nice way to start the day. We seldom get yellow finches here in
Detroit. I don't know if it's because we are farther north or because
we live in the middle of a big city. Every once in a while. I'll spot
one at the feeders.

We seem to have lots of cardinals, blue jays and mourning doves. We
also have a couple of wacky woodpeckers who go whee, whee, whee,
drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. They make me smile every time I hear them.

is much too close to the house. I can spy nests filled with babies in
the spring time and watch their mamas hunt for food and feed the little
birds.

There are lots of beautiful birds in the world but I think my favorite
is the sparrow.

Thanks for that nice wake-up, Alice.

I wish all our days could start that way! I love to see the birds and
listen to them.
Wishing everyone a Good Day!

Thank you, Alice. As I was reading your post I was trying to ignor the
blue jays on my back deck screaming for their morning peanuts. They
have become my morning ritual. Thanks for sheading a new light on my
day.

CHOCOLATE DOESN'T MAKE THE WORLD GO AROUND. BUT IT CERTAINLY MAKES THE
TRIP WORTHWHILE.
