DDDDDDDDDH gave me the OK to go and purchase the new Janome 6600 today at my
LQS - namely Sunshine Sewing. It is sooo cool. I no longer have to use a
foot pedal since there is a stop and start button. You can also cut your
thread by pressing a button giving you a tail of about 3" and, get this,
when you start sewing again you don't pull your tail back through your
needle! There is a zillion things I need to learn. All lessons are free
forever, and the machine has a 25 year warrantee.

Now, my old Sears gets relegated to a DSD or DDIL. They may not want it
since they don't live around me to give them lessons. ~sigh~ Wish that
wasn't true, but it is.

~~~~~ Still happy dancing around ~~~~~~~~
Congratulations! Thatis the machine I'm lusting for. You must let me
know all the details. The LQS here tried to convince me that the
extended table was "extra"...although I knew better from reading
online. So I'm thinking there are other things they told me that might
not be quite as is. Did you get a good price (I'd love to know what you
paid for it if you aren't uncomfortable telling)? Did you have a trade?
What "extras" did you get in the purchase? And mostly, is it as dreamy
to sew with as I think?
I'm green with envy but really glad for you!
Sunny
I got a great deal. Sunshine Sewing (they have a web site) is moving and
they are having a moving sale. Fabric is 30% off and the machine retails at
$1995 and I got it for $1549. The table comes with it along with a bunch of
accessories. I love it! My LQS does not take trade ins and only sells
Janome. The owner, Fay, says the 6600 is a retail machine only and is not
sold in any of those discount machine places. Don't know if that is true,
but I did check it out on the Janome site and got everything in one box. It
has a 25 year warrantee.
