I never sell my quilts. I give them as gifts to very special people
and donate them to charity auctions. Few people understand the cost of
supplies let alone the time involved in making a quilt. If someone
insists on knowing a price I always tell them that I never sell
anything for less than $1000. That usually stops the conversation.
Sometimes people will ask why they can purchase a "handmade" quilt at
the store for $50. I tell them to wash that $50 quilt ten times and
they will know the answer.
