It's my birthday today. My DH and 3 kids brought me breakfast in bed, a
big bunch of flowers, and a pile of presents and cards. I got:
* a posh camera from my dear dad
* two books from my dear sister (one about painting on quilts, and one
of cat haikus)
* a packet of grass seed from the kids. We're going to grass a small
area of our allotment for sitting and picnics
* a box of smellies from my favourite toiletry place, LUSH, from DH
* a card from DH saying "IOU one cat". I've picked out a Maine Coon
kitten from a local breeder, but I can't bring him home until he's 13
weeks old. But he's my birthday present from DH. I've always wanted a
Maine Coon and I've been cat-less for 6 years now. I'm really looking
forward to my new QI!
* a HUGE birthday thunkie full of fabric scraps. Thank you so much, kind
thunkie-sender! I can't wait to put them to good use.
Then the five of us went to Manchester Museum for the morning, and
looked at ancient money, dinosaur skeletons, stuffed animals (DS6
insisted we only look at endangered animals, and had to close our eyes
when walking past non-endangered species), live animals in the vivarium,
and Egyptian mummies. Then we all had lunch at Nandos before coming home.
The day is only half over and I'm already having a lovely time.

Wishing you a happy birthday. Coming from a very rainy afternoon in
Derbyshire. Hope it is better for you.
