Had a wonderful meet up with Bronnie and her DH Franklin yesterday.
They took the train from NY to the Princeton, NJ area where I picked
them up. We did a brief riding tour of the Princeton area and
Princeton University then shopping for a magazine one of Bronnie's
neighbors was looking for. Unfortunately not a successful mission for
that. A quick trip to the LQS shop here. Then we were fortunate
enough that the weather cooperated and were able to take them for a
hot air balloon ride over the PA countryside. Beautiful fall colors
although alot had disappeared after the previous 4 days of wind/rain
but a great flight nonetheless. Then we had a great dinner and took
them back to the train station. There was talk about them hitting the
Empire State Bldg. when they got back into the city. I'm sure they're
exhausted by now. Bronnie's quite the trooper with broken foot and
all, ready to run at the drop of a hat! It was quite the whirlwind
day for them surely, I just hope they enjoyed it half as much as DH
and I enjoyed spending time with them.
This was my first RCTQ meet up and with someone from Oz no less. What
great fun and what a great group this is.

A hot air balloon ride!! What fun! I was out riding around town
today....our fall colors are wonderful. Rain is expected in the next
couple of days, so this will probably be the peak. I should have
taken my camera. I'm so glad Bronnie is managing with her broken
foot. That could have been disastrous!
Are they getting to the end of their trip?

Yes, they are beginning their long trek back starting today. I know
they have a day-long layover in Los Angeles so I imagine it will be a
few days before Bronnie is back online again. Great day, indeed.

Hi girls! Here I am! Sitting in the Sheraton Hotel at LAX airport.
Gorgeous day but I am spending it reclining by the pool resting my
ankle. Flying does things to healthy ankles on a 12 hr flt let alone
a bung one. Yes, as Kim reported, we had a fabulous day with her and
DH, spoiling us with sightseeing on land and in the air! What a fun
experience the balloon flt was -the countryside looked so pretty -
like a patchwork.
My ankle isnt really as good I pretend - we walked alot the last day
of the week in NY. At one point hung out on a city corner waiting for
the Presidential motorcade to go by - happenstance we were there -
which it did after about an hour of standing......the 'heavies' were
blocking my view but I did get to see the flag fluttering on the
limo! The ankle does have a swelling on the side - I'll just have to
get it looked at by the doctor this week at home. I was so cognisant
of not ruining our holiday - for Franklin as much as me -- that I put
on a brave show; now just have to hope with proper rest that it will
get fixed. It was actually going great whilst we were in the rv and I
kept right off it with crutches, but then we hit Chicago and then I
started walking......yada yada yada
We did go up the Empire State Blg but not that night after seeing
Kim. After the president sighting, we got up there- we werent
expecting such lines and it was over an hour walking on hard marble
floors round and round. It was dark and we got to see the lights of
the city so I guess it was worth it.
Well, thank you all for keeping with me on our trip --- your
hospitality across the country has been a treasure - friends, fellow
travellers, strangers, where ever we have been. Thank you. All I can
say is, come visit us at home and we'll reciprocate.
Hugs
Bronnie
