I know that I am not the only one addicted to making those fabric
wrapped coil bowls. I am trying to find the best place to purchase
the clothesline, but having a hard time finding anything worth while.
Does anyone here make these things and have a favorite (bulk or not)
store?

Thanks!
Dannielle

Yes, I am also addicted. I get my cotton clothesline at Ace Hardware, but
only because it is the only place I've been able to find it. And, believe
me, I have looked.

How I hate to measure our lives by 'before and after' Hurricane Katrina but
she swushed our Ace Hardware with about 30 feet of sludge. We have to go
about 40 miles to the nearest Ace but each trip is a joy. They keep the
special formula for our idea of just right almost nearly barely pale yellow
for trim paint - and lots of good hardware stuff and real guidance. Yes.
Find yourself an Ace Hardware and plan to spend some time looking around.

I have made many bowls and mats in the past but I didn't use
clothesline! Some were made using pieces of batting strips but most
of them were based on cotton piping cord which is readily available
for a low price for yardage. It is also available in different
circumferences to suit your needs - if you are interested, I searched
for cotton piping cord at Atlanta Thread & Supply - they have bulk
spools of varying weights and costs. If you have access to a home dec
fabric store, you could check out the price per yard of their cotton
piping spools. I was lucky in that my 'corner store' was a fabric/
home dec store and I often picked up bargains during sale
days...jennellh

I'm lucky! Our nearby quilt shop orders it by the boxload and keeps it in
stock!!! Better quality than at some of the local stores that actually do
sell clothesline. There were several booths at the last Maine Quilt Show
that had patterns/books (AND supplies) for making the bowls. Hopefully our
local gal will keep the clothesline in stock for a loooong time!
