A single pair of cats and their kittens can produce as many as 420,000
kittens in 7 years!
This is from a free site that donates food for cats and dogs in shelters...
you just click and answer a trivia question for each- cats and dogs. It's
quite interesting what they come up with for the questions of the day You
can sign up for daily reminders, too.

I had to sign a form promising that I would have Misty spayed by the age
of 7 months.

I knew you would any way- signed form or not. Responsible pet owners are
the bestest... right up there with quilters. ;-)
I wish I could help all the unwanted animals. But these four beloved-
driving me crazy at times- dogs are my uppermost limit! LOL

Couldn't take on any more - way too expensive.
Vet visits this afternoon:
with Hodge - yearly injections and a 'poorly' eye. As he is so much a
plodding old cat, this must be the result of bumping into a twig or
something. He now has special eye drops.
with Kiwi (our New Zealander vet does love him!) who had a nasty
puncture on his head which wouldn't heal. After I had phoned the vet to
make the appointment he appeared in the garden only using three legs and
with another new puncture inside the other ear. The leg had improved
enough for him to put his weight on it by the time we got to the vets,
and she said it was a battle injury. So he had an antibiotic jab.
Then I remembered that we needed some more flea stuff, so all in all a
very expensive visit - over £100. I've told Kiwi that if he continues to
do battle his treats of special cat milk will stop as I can't afford
both milk and vet fees. I have a fair idea of who his opponent was -
Harry from down the road is the most obvious. (we don't have any wild
animals that hurt little cats).
Thank goodness Mia is a good little girl and keeps out of trouble. She
was still hiding from the cat-carrying boxes when we left.
Tomorrow I'm going to a meeting of local pet charity at the vets house
to plan our Christmas Fair. I must remember to have two cups of coffee
and two biscuits!! I'll also sing new NZ vets praises. They both sat
like little angels while she did nasty things to them, and didn't flinch
at all. She deserves praise going to her boss - hope she stays a long time.

The only question I asked my UN responsible neighbors when their cat
packed her bags and moved to my house..is "is she spayed"? Now trying
to teach this old cat how to use a cat door:)
