I feel terrible asking this, because I know that many of ya'll have as
many if not WORSE problems than we do, but I'm asking on behalf of my
hubby.
This morning (UK time, not our time) he jumped off one of the boats he
was working on (the only way to get off these boats is to jump three
feet onto a dock) and messed up his leg. He's more than likely (pending
seeing a specialist - which he didn't have time for over there) got an
ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear and from the symptoms I described
to our family ortho specialist (lack of stability, unable to put ANY
weight on it, mainly) it sounds as though my dear, sweet husband will
more than likely require surgery to fix it. :(
I can't stress what a wonderful person he is - always there when you
need him, would give the clothes off his back if you felt the slightest
chill, always doing something for others ... and he really could
benefit from a few prayers or just some good thoughts.
The surgery he'll have to have is painful at best. They'll have to
graft a tendon into his knee to replace the torn ligament. And they, of
course, have to get a tendon from somewhere - which means not only will
his knee be excruciatingly painful, but somewhere else'll be, too.
He's leaving tomorrow morning (UK time) and landing tomorrow evening
(our time) and will have to travel on a plane alone (no one to help
him) for over 10 hours and deal with 3 layovers/plane changes without
help. Though his office has arranged for someone to help him at the
airports, he's never been one to inconvenience a single soul. So I
can't even be sure that he'll take the help. :(
Thank you, guys!! All kind thoughts appreciated!! :)

Connie, I am so sorry your husband has injured himself, especially on an
overseas trip! Hugs, prayers and good thoughts that his repair and recovery
go swift and smooth and he's back to 110% again soon.

Thank you so much, Debi! He's such a good guy - and he's been through
so much this past year (two other surgeries for other problems) ... he
can really use all the good thoughts and prayers he can have! :(
