OMG - just applied for a job!!! It is teaching English to engineering
students 16 years+. I saw the job last week in the paper and have been
thinking about it ever since. Just got DD#1 (13) to spell check for me,
because it was all in French, which is OK written, but not if I have to
speak it!! Hehehe.... What have I done......?

If, and that is a big if, as I have left it a week that I should
perchance to get it, it would work out really well, because I think that
they have the same school holidays as my 2 DDs. I am here shaking. I
have been teaching English to primary children for a year and my
contract expires at the end of this month and I don't know if it will be
renewed because of what finances are available to the schools for
language training, so I won't find out probably until November, like
last year. I would feel guilty if I got it and couldn't fit them in
anymore, but the money would be useful, not knowing what they are
offering.

I am now rambling on, I don't even know if it is still available. OK,
deep breath time!

Changing the subject, it looks like we are about to have a thunderstorm
here. Yesterday in Normandy (Northern France) there was a tornado (very
rare!) and 4 people were killed and 9 injured. Just a bit of rain will
do here, thanks. The garden is dry and the temperature has just peaked
at 32 degrees centigrade in the shade - don't know in Fahrenheit, used
to but brain has gone all metric!

Love to all

You know you've been quilting too long when you automatically read the
title of this thread as "appliqued for a job".

Good luck, Janner!
