I've had, in the past 2 weeks, 3 episodes of out of the blue nausea,
vomiting, etc. which lasts for about 24-48 hours then goes away and
leaves me with severe muscle aches. I actually got in to see my doc
today after explaining what all was going on. He agreed with what the
on-call doctor said which was that it sounded like my gall bladder was
acting up. So, he ordered lab work and an ultrasound, but I ended up
in the ER because the pain was so bad. Well, the doctor there said it
didn't seem like gall bladder, but more like an ulcer. Anyway, I got
to drink a lovely little "GI cocktail" which coated and numbed
everything from my throat down. I was also given pain medicine and
anti-nausea medicine and heavy duty Rx to pick up. I have to take one
of the meds EVERY night with a lovely chaser of Maalox *and*
Mylanta...joy joy joy. I will still have the ultrasound done next
week, even though the bloodwork came back normal.
Right now I'm in pain...muscles are too tight and everything is just
annoying right now. We'll see how everything goes with this medicine
combination and if it works, assume that everything that's been
happening really is just an ulcer.
What slays me is that they said to cut caffeine (at the most I have
2.5 cups of coffee a day, if that), cut nicotine, which I've been
trying to do but since I've been getting sick, they aren't appealing
anymore, and reduce stress....no ideas of what diet, other than not to
skip meals and to have 3 meals with protein and 3 small snacks every
day.
Oh well...thought I'd update......

Ahhh Larisa, no fair being ill at the holidays. I hope they get a grip
on whatever is hurting you and make it better very fast. In the
meantime, try to take life easier, worry less. The dishes can wait,
dinner can come out of a takeout container, young 'uns can learn to
put in a load of laundry. You just rest. And know that lots of prayers
and good thoughts will be coming your way.
Hugs,
Sunny

Tell you what Larisa.... you and I can comfort each other. Mine isn't
muscles... it's a nerve. Still waiting (and waiting... 8 days.... I know
there was a holiday in there but when you hurt... ) for the docs to tell me
what the plan of action is going to be. The nurse say a week ago that she
was scheduling me for an appt with the neck/spine guy and a neuro-surgeon.
That I haven't seen them yet -- I understand.... but surely they can at
least get something scheduled. It's terrible not knowing..
So I'll be thinking of you... praying for you... and hope you'll do the
same for me.
Take care.... hope you're feeling better soon.
