Hi all.
I've been trying to post with Google and have not had success!
If this makes it does anyone have a better suggestion than Google? My
ISP does not provide a news server.

Hi Marigold!
I can see your post just fine! I soon will no longer have news server
access so I will only be able to post in Google as well. Thus far it's
worked okay for me. Sorry that I don't have another suggestion for you!

Marilyn, newsguy (the news server we use - http://www.newsguy.com/ -
NAYYY) should give you access to ng. There is a yearly fee but well worth
it. I'm sure there are others suppliers out there.

newsguy is where my isp subcontracts through for a news server.
The only problem I ever have with it is the odd port limit message,
which would not be an issue (I think) with an individual subscription.

I have had to deal with google but once, for about a week a couple of
years ago. That was right before the isp switched to newsguy and was
having problems with the service they used prior to them. Never
again! I found it to be a real PITA.
I believe there are some free servers, but I don't think they allow
posting. I haven't ever used them so I don't know how good they are,
or if they would be worth the bother what with having to go to google
to post. A google search would probably turn up more info.

Some of us use news.individual.net as a news server.

There is a small yearly fee (IIRC about 10 or 12 Euros*) and they are
based in Germany and the on line payment place they use does the
currency conversion for you.

I have used them for several years, back when it was a free service as
well as since they started charging. Very reliable; no noticeable
increase in spam; they have filters in place that screen out some of the
obvious spam. In fact, I rarely see spam on the rctq except when others
reply to or comment on a particular posting.

NAYY, just a very, very satisfied customer.

*my spell checker really wants to make this "neurosis" :-)
