Me, too! Until about 5 years ago, I weighed within 10 pounds of what I
weighed most of my adult life. Even after I quit smoking almost 7 years ago,
I didn't gain a pound for at least a year.
Then it started creeping up. Then I hit 50 and gained about 30 pounds, well
it seemed like overnight, but it could have been longer. I blame sweat pants
and working from home. No need to get into dress clothes for the office any
more.
I've slowly gotten rid of most of it. My waist will never be the same
again, I don't care how much I lose.
I need more stress in my life, I don't eat when I'm busy or upset. After a
lifetime of burning off everything I eat because I was like a buzzsaw, I am
now more mellow and laid back. Not much bothers me. Of course, I didn't have
the patience to quilt in my previous life.
