i'm not a proponent of violence but thanks for the offer, Cindy,
besides which the person is a well loved and respected member here, no names
from me.
i've no doubt it was well meant but at the time it didnt sit well with me at
all but then not much has sat right with me for the past three+ months.
i've decided it is something about me that generates weirdness from
otherwise normal folks.
this phenomenon is not only recent tho. not sure when it started but there
ya have it.
thanks for those hugz too and right back atcha

Jeanne:
I hate to hear of unkind email, especially when the recipient is in a rough
spot. Just please remember that the majority of the RCTQ people are NOT
sending unkind messages. I continue to hold you in my prayer list.
Take care. Pat in Virginia
PS to all: If I don't want to read a soap opera, I use the block sender or
the ignore conversation feature of this program. That is an easy way to
avoid any post I do not want to read, without insulting anyone.

Everybody here is well loved and respected, Jeanne. But just like in any
family there's bound to be friction. And with so many personality types,
there's bound to be differences of opinion on how to deal with issues.
Some of us are motherly and empathetic to the point of pain. Some of us are
of the more motherly and snap out of it type (please understand that in no
way is referencing your recent loss - snap out of it is NEVER appropriate
for that level of trauma).
I know that if my needle gets stuck in a groove, I do much better if someone
smacks me upside the head rather than egging me on by sympathizing.
And some of us are "fixers". When someone we care about talks about a
problem, we try to fix it. If we can't "fix" it, we get upset and yell and
cuss and run around in circles. But in most cases, the person airing the
problem doesn't want or need someone to "fix" the problem, they just need
someone to listen. And validate their feelings.
I have a real problem with just listening and not offering unwanted advice.
Nobody needs my advice (unless it's about a new quilting tool - ask me
before you waste your money - I've already bought it), I don't know
anything.

That's ok, Jeanne. You just do what you can. Breathe. I think about you a
lot.
