I wonder if I could also add a prayer request for my DD. Two weekends
ago she received very nasty burns on both of her legs when the coolant
line came undone from her race car while she was doing hot laps. 2nd
degree burns. Very nasty thank goodness they had EMTs there and an
ambulance. Of course we ended up in the emergency room. One burn in
particular is quite large, about the size of a man's hand. She's had a
difficult couple of weeks, besides the pain and nausea, but she's been
taking care of them and doing exactly what the plastic surgeon has
instructed.
She saw the doctor again today who has decided the large burn is not
healing as well as he'd like it to. He's given her gel-type packs to put
on it for the next week (she also cleans it twice a day) which makes it
a little harder for her to walk. In a week he'll make up his mind about
her needing a skin graft.
She's a great kid and really doesn't want to have this surgery.Scars are
not an issue for her she wants to get past this, as school has started
up again and she's back at her college studies.=20
Please send good thoughts her way that her leg heals well and the
surgery isn't needed.
Thanks, my friends.

We did figure out what happened, air in the coolant hose created too
much pressure. A freak accident, they were changing motors all weekend.
DH has constructed a steel barrier around it so should it ever come off
again the hot coolant won't get on the driver. Sigh......

So glad you've reported back to us, Irene, on your precious daughter. I've
been so concerned about her burns. Burns (and skin grafts if it comes to
that) are mighty tough to bear. Even the thought of cleaning a burn makes
me gasp. Hard to breathe and think about it. Sending hugs (without
touching) and deep sympathy and holding you both close in our prayers, Polly

Yikes!!! Healing prayers on the way from WA (as an aside, aloe & vitamin
E are both very good burn-healing agents, as is calendula creme) Feel free
to email me privately if you want more info on good herbal healing stuff.

My prayer list has grown considerably since joining this group but am
always happy to pray for anyone. I consider it an honor that people
will ask us to pray for them. My prayers are with your daughter that
she may not suffer much pain and for a speedy recovery that does not
involve skin grafts. Just remember the Lord doesn't put anymore on us
than we can handle. Although this past year I have wished He didn't
have so much confidence in me. :)
