Actually, that one I can help with. You can't get there from here,
but there is a ferry. :-)
I have an older model Bernina. You have to get a Magic Box and the
right Bernina card. Do the work on your computer, dump it onto the
card with the Magic Box and then plug the card into your computer.
There are parallel port to USB converters plugs, but long time users
say that it the results are not satisfactory. I hear you about the
cost of this program.
Hope that helps.

I love that attitude: "Actually, that one I can help with. You can't get
there from here,
but there is a ferry. :-) "
With our new computer there was no place, no where, no how to connect
our speakers.
Radio Shack is your friend. They solved the speaker problem and it
makes me wonder if they could give you a hand with Bernina. Polly

A Magic Box is an embroidery card writer that you attach by USB to
your computer that has four slots for different style embroidery cards
and will "write" onto the card that goes with your machine. Then you
can remove the card from the magic box and use it directly in your
machine. In other words you don't actually have your machine connected
to a computer. Bear in mind, this is what I was told when I got mine.
I haven't as yet, produced anything on it. I'm still trying to get
the computer program straightened out.

I had the same type of problem with the original Bernina Customizer
program that would run on Win 95 or 98, but not on XP. Their solution,
but Artista. Doesn't the Artista have the option of a card writer? If
so you may be able to pick one up used.
