Just read on their site that in the first week, they received 1500 quilts
for Quilters Comfort America.

I was looking for an address and came across this from Quilts, Inc.
about Houston:
"Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from quilters worldwide,
the Quilters Comfort America project has received more than enough
quilts to place with evacuees. If you were planning on sending us a
quilt but have not yet, we urge you to find use for it to help those
within your own community. Thank you for your efforts."
I found a place in Louisiana that seems to need them. The e-mail
address is: SuzQ11166@aol.com and her name is Susan Robertson if anyone
is interested. Didn't find one for Mississippi.

I know several people that made quilts at a sew in yesterday. The local
Crossfire ministry is filling a semi with goods so I took the last of the
quilts there. It's great that people have responded in such a great way.

I saw that yesterday as well. AQS is still accepting bed quilts and
baby quilts. It is not clear from their statement that these will
necessarily be distributed in the near term. They say, "We will
receive quilts into our warehouse and pack them to be shipped on to the
disaster areas, when and where requested by the aid groups."
I sent mine there anyway, in the hope that they will be given where most
needed.

Heh - heh!! I'm sorry for laughing - but I saw that one coming. Wish I had
waited and given to our local group from the Gulf Coast. But I'm sewing as
fast as I can.
