The quilting world has suffered a tremendous loss. Helen Kelly, known for
her amazing quilting, teaching, and writing talent died this week. Among her
many accomplishments, Helen was well-known for her long-running humor column
in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine.

Helen was a member of the Women of the West Quilt Guild -- of Plymouth, MN
(where I was previously a member). While I didn't know her well, I did know
her and she was truly had a sweet heart and a gentle soul.

I know that her humor shared regularly in QNM will be missed. Prayers to her
family. You can sign her guest book here:

Thank you, Kate. We loved Helen Kelly - whether her most recent column or
one of days long ago. How we loved to share her thoughts, successes,
challenges, failures and insight. A truly beautiful being. We celebrate
her life. Polly

In this fairly new format of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, Helen's column
is the only one I make sure to read. The rest of them just don't interest
me like hers. Maybe it was because she seemed like an old friend and
mentor. She will be missed.

Now I am glad I cancelled my subscription to QNM. Like you, Kathyl, Helen
was the main reason I took the magazine.

Helen Kelly was guest speaker at a Project Linus conference a few years ago.
We all felt like we were old friends by the time the evening was over. Such
a talented, gracious lady. She will be missed.
