I have a large shrub in a pot on each side of my main
entrance door. In each is a metal spike holding a sign.
On the left - "Spolit cats live here"
On the right - "Dogs have masters; cats have slaves"
Actually my cats are all very good. I teach them early that
inside the house is my territory and outside is their's.
They can go pretty much anywhere inside EXCEPT on kitchen
benches and on tables. I have left warn BBQ chickens on my
kitchen bench and the cats have done no more than sit on the
floor salivating longingly. I would not put money on their
actions if I wasn't in the house for any length of time and
the chicken was left there (lol) but since that is never
going to hapen . . . .
They also know to take any disputes outside. They get along
well most times but if they do have a spat - I only have to
say "OUT" in that special tone of voice and all three shoot
out the cat door and sort out their problems before coming
back inside.

: From a cat's point of view, EVERYTHING belongs to the cat,
and humans are
: there only as support staff. The cat is probably sick and
tired of you
: messing with its silk flowers that it has so carefully
arranged, complete
: with artistic bite marks. ;-)
