I've been looking at the silk ties I've been collecting for ages, and
have a sort of inspiration.

I think I would need to do this on a leave-in foundation to stabilise
it. and do it like paper piecing

The only leave in foundation I've used is a very very fine non-woven
interfacing, which would be easy to draw lines on for the foundation
piecing.

Would this turn out too stiff - would I be better using a very fine
cotton, though it strikes me that the lines would be more difficult to draw.

Using ties will be difficult if I need a long strip unless I use it cut
on the cross - even more unstable. The interfacing would be very stable
though........ All advice welcome - I have started to go round in circles!
