You know, many years ago, before I did much quilting, but a lot of

sewing, I made a fabric covered coil bowl. <G> It was for an Am.
Sewing Guild challenge and the fabric was one of the few that I have
ever seen that was truly ugly.
Shirley Adams showed how to make these on one of her TV (PBS shows)
and used home dec. piping cord. It comes in lots of sizes and is soft,
not really stiff. If you wrap the cord tightly it is stiffer than if
you wrap a bit looser. And didn't use any glue or anything.
Mine came out a bit lopsided, but not bad for a quick first effort.

So check at the fabric shop for uncovered piping cord..... either home
dec or fashion (there is a difference, will try to find pics of each)
