Congratulations on both Kathy. That's wonderful to hear. I love when housing
goes better than planned, whether buying or selling. Here on Long Island
everyone says it takes around 6 months to close on a house. I had a
wonderful mortgage guy and we got ours through in less than 2 months. It
took a LOT of work on my part and taking on stuff that they should have been
doing, but it was worth it to me. So if anyone on or coming to Long Island
needs a lender and mortgage person, I highly recommend Bank of America and
Mario Cavallaro. No, I have no affiliation or any of that stuff. I'm just
one extremely satisfied customer.
But I digress. I checked out the Accuquilt link you posted, which led me to
the new website for Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. Does anyone here have a
membership to their new quilt show? I'm wondering if it is worth the money
to subscribe.
Hugs,
Kim

My membership (kindly given to me by Sally) is about to end. I will not
be renewing, *not* because it wouldn't be worth it: it is full of great
shows and activities; but because I just don't have time to keep up with
it. When I have caught up with this past few months of shows. I may
well renew my membership.
What I have seen is excellent.

I have trouble keeping up too! I joined in the beginning when there were
less shows which I actually preferred. There are lots of activities,
blogs, etc., but I don't usually have time for those. I have learned a
lot from the shows though - they certainly get the pick of the top level
quilters.
I treat the subscription as a subscription to a Guild as there isn't a
convenient one around here - and if there was they wouldn't be able to
afford the same calibre of speaker.
As to the adverts - Gammil and Bernina - I just fast forward!

I subscribe to the show AND I bought the DVD for the first season. I
really like the show, altho I tend to watch it in random marathons (ie
nothing for several months and then go crazy watching everything). If I
had to choose between subscribing or buying the DVD I would just buy the
DVD. Reasons - better resolution (streaming video is a bit grainy when
full screen), no ads, and it's easy to skip to the section you want to
watch/rewatch. On the other hand, the subscription is more up to date
and is in sync with their web site.
