Last night I was working on the thread painting part of my big
landscape, and wouldn'tcha knowit. My faithful little workhorse,
Bernina 1000, quit on me. That was the last straw in a 4 year QUEST
(pun intended for those of you who are familiar with my babylock
nightmare) for a newer, slightly bigger sewing machine. Called a
friend, drove to Stewarts in Mt Zion, and bought a janome 1600p - she
just got a straight stitch - but I need her for free motion. I also
ordered the Grace Quilting frame that will fit either mid arm or long
arm - and have save about a third of what I need to buy a mid arm. At
least I will now have the frame! and the neatest thing is that janome
1600p is white and PURPLE. I love it!

Musicmaker, who has been playing with paints and dyes all week but
will start thread painting again this evening.
