http://www.flickr.com/photos/onetexsun/ The link is to a pic of the
Mile a Minute quilt I made -- crib sized. I really like the technique
and will be starting another one really soon. I'm going to make the
squares bigger next time, probably 10" rather than the 6.5" in the
last one. This technique really offers hope that I might clear out a
bunch of my scraps. The quilt itself doesn't look so great. I put it
together and quilted it while I was sick with the flu last week. But I
needed to keep myself busy and it's finished.
BTW -- for those who are worried about H1N1 flu -- apparently that's
what I had for the past two weeks. I thought it was a cold. Got a bit
icky. A couple days of nasty fever and I'm still pretty weak and
tired. But there was no point when I thought about going to the
emergency room. The last time I had the flu (last winter), I was much,
much sicker.
Anyhow, there are tutorials on the Mile a Minute method. I turned the
template I was using so that the blocks came out with seams on the
slant rather than straight. I think it looks better that way. And the
result was the small blocks which I made out of the trimmed off points
on the bigger pieces.

Love that idea. I'm passing it on to my Project Linus volunteers.

Well done! (Didn't know this had a name and a technique -now I know
how to refer to it!) I do love scrappy quilts. The red strip is great.

That turned out great Sunny. That is such a fun block to make and
eats up a fair amount of scraps easily. I have a MAM top finished
and it is next to get quilted.
Sorry you were so sick. I have been down with a cold myself
while trying to get daughter moved and clear up the fallout.
I didn't have the fever but the germs ran down into my chest and
sure have done a great job at making me miserable. I hope you
get your energy back soon!

Gorgeous quilt! I really like the effect. It does look like a fun one
to make.
Sorry you were sick, Sunny, but glad you are on the mend, and that the
flu wasn't as bad as it could have been.
Best regards,
Michelle in Nevada
