If you buy the printed paper-backed fabric (like Printed Treasures or
something like that) -- you can use whatever software you feel most
comfortable with. I usually use either Microsoft Word or Publisher.
There is specialty software out there -- like this:
http://www.softexpressions.com/software/qltlab/Index.php
You can also prepare your own fabric -- using Bubble Jet Set (Your LQS
probably has it). Just iron freezer paper to the back of your fabric before
moving through the printer. Be sure to cut exactly 8 1/2 x 11 (or if your
printer does specialty sizes -- ... ) and not stray threads to get stuck in
your printer.
Also -- must be a DESK or INKJET printer... not a LASER printer.

I use HP's quilt label software, but that's no longer available, AFAIK
-- instead, EQ6 has the same capability built in. However, it's easier
for me to do it on my Mac, instead of in Windows on my Mac, so I keep

using the HP thing. <g>
I like to take a photo of the front (or part of the front) of the quilt,
put it into my graphics software and make it very pale. Then I can put
text on top of the image.

Hi, Sunny
I use PrintMaster. I choose the "card" and can make
four labels at one time (I make my own printable paper
using BJ). I can even import my own pictures to really
personalize my labels. And of course choose the fonts
I want to use and size them to whatever fits. And there's
lot's of borders to choose from...well, it just works for me
and I'm still using the '98 version ;0

Hey, I'm in the same boat! I don't put labels on my quilts but....I'm
responsible for the thank you quilt for our outgoing guild president.
That one always gets a label so I figured I had to suck it up and play
along.
I found some freebie ones on quilters cache.
http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html
Just go to the "quilt blocks galore" page and scroll down to the bottom.
There is a button there that says "quilt labels".
Maybe one of those will work.
