Hi Marilyn,
Wow, what a treat--bonding with your grand-daughter and quilting!
I've done what you are intending to do with your Orange Crush quilt--quilted
in sections and then put the quilt together. It works just fine. I did it
with a king-sized quilt that has tailored corners.

made sure to make the backing extra big so I'd have plenty to turn under and
stitch down on the back.
So I'll wish you luck, but I don't think you'll need it. :-)

> Well, I returned Monday night from a weekend of babysitting my 11 month
> old granddaughter. What a great chance to bond with her! She was so good.
> They live a 6 hour drive away so I don't get to see her often.
> I took my sewing machine, a stack of fabric, cutting paraphernalia, iron

> squares from lots of the scraps that I had taken & I cut & sewed 1/2

> On the way home I had a chance to stop at a quilt shop that I've known

> Since I got home I've been cutting a sewing strips for the next scrappy.
> Last evening DH was working late and will be for the next 2 nights, so I
> rearranged the living room to make space to lay out my orange crush

> Well, off to spray weeds before the wind picks up. Then a little
> housework, and I can get back to putting my quilt together.
> Hope you are all having a great weekend. It's a long weekend for us in
