I need to lose 25 lbs. DH just offered me
$10 of fabric per lb. of weight lost. I've
been on the no-buy program. Does this count
as an exception? ;)

The first thing you need to do is throw away the white bread and buy a
bunch of carrots. The second thing you need to do is start making room
for all that new fabric. Woot! Fabric for weight. That's a great deal.
Have fun, collect all your lost weight and shop for all that fabric at
one t ime.

I told my husband about your DH's offer. He told me I may be a little
heavier than I should be, but he's not ready to make me that kind of
offer :( Hmm... Maybe I need to coordinate a food diet and a fabric
diet -- no new fabric unless I lose weight. Reward myself with new
fabric when I lose X number of pounds.
