Hello, I sew but am not a quilter. At a recent craft show, I saw these
quilts made of fabric pieces composed into a scenery, or like a
painting, rather than geometric patterns. Is there a special name for
these kinds of quilts? I'd like to learn more.
One example is this http://www.whims.cc/rdk_select.htm (not the watercolor quilt background but the actual portrait of the
dogs)
thanks

I would say that, as a group, these would be called 'picture quilts';
and that this could be subdivided into 'landscape' and 'portrait'. I
don't know of any other *official* name for the category.
