PIggy backing here cause I don't see the original note.
I am so glad to hear this MM. I kind of thought there
was an explaination. Sounds like you might have found
a treasure of a sewing machine guru. Did he suggest
a certain brand that will make your machine happier
or just the tips on what to watch for?
Hope you have time to quilt today and have a great go of it.

Taria, he just advised "Never buy quilting thread at a 3 for a ___$
sale". "Always hold a strand up - if it's fuzzy don't buy
it" (unless, of course, it's supposed to be fuzzy). He attends the
conventions for sewing machine technicians and learned how, at the
factory, hundreds of spools can end up in the "irregular" bin and that
these are sold to retailers for pennies, who then mark them up
somewhat and sell them to the unsuspecting (me).
Mr Stewart didn't advocate any particulare brand though.

Thanks mm. I have had trouble with threads on rare occasions.
Somtimes it ends up ok with needle or machine changes and
sometimes it ends up ugly and I take a long sewing break out
of frustration.
I wish I had the collection Leslie had. Wanna start up a
stash raid at her house? lol

Simon says he double-dog-dares ya to try a stash raid! ;-) I just got a
big shock the other day. I read on some 'famous' quilter's website to never
use rayon thread in the bobbin. Oopsie! I've done that for many, many
years. Guess I'm a bad- and ignorant- quilter! LOL

And the reason for not using rayon thread in the bobbin is...?? I guess
it's not something I'd try unless I was doing bobbin work and I wanted
the bobbin thread to show on the top. Any reason why I shouldn't do that?
