Or in my case, I don't suffer fools gladly. Just a personal viewpoint, of
course.

Oh come on! Most people are between the two extremes. And I've never seen
anyone who's suggested nuking until green, that's a gross exaggeration.

Of course "most" people are between the two extremes, but then "most" people
are always between the extremes - simple bell curve.

And I've never seen

You won't on urg or one of the other gardenign ngs I've read, but one I read
does have the "nuke it till it glows" adherents. Just because you haven't
personally observed it or a read a thread where all pest and weed problems
aren't advocated to get the nuke treatement doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I didn't say that it didn't exist :-)

Have you challenged the poster who recommended the nuking?
