So I decided to see if a certain favorite pattern will work with a new
acquisition, but the pattern is not in its stash spot. It may have
migrated to my mother's stash 2 hours away. Anyone recognize this
description? Tell me the number? (Probably easier to find it on-line
than to plan a tour across the state.)
The envelope has a drawing of two views (no photos). Larger image is a
shoulder-length blonde wearing a blue-striped dress, facing head-on.
She has on a big-bead necklace. Smaller image is a brunette in a white
version, taken from her right rear hip so you can see how the dress
wraps around and ties in front.
Bodice has a full front and a V-shaped back with the edges cut on the
selvage. Full skirt (gathered?) and self-ties via a slit in the
waistband.
Pretty sure it would be a Butterick, as I was appreciating their
styling then, as now. And I was wearing a couple dresses made up from
this in the late 80s (to rave reviews). The back-wrap alleviates the
usual shortcomings of a wrap dress.
Thanks!

I have that pattern, and have made several dresses for myself and a DD. In
fact, she and another DD asked me over the weekend if I'd make them each a
dress from it. One of them is going to a party on the 15th and the other
just likes the style. Now, just to find it!! I was not well all weekend,
so was in bed for the most part. I am feeling a bit better tonight, but
still didn't look for it yet. Maybe tomorrow, I can find it and I'll post
the information you want.

How did I do on remembering what the pictured gals are wearing?? Funny

Great, the lavender dress with large white pearls, how can a person forget
it.

Veloise, I'm sorry it took so long to get back with the pattern brand &
number. It is, indeed, a Butterick pattern # 3223. One dress that I made
myself, I reversed the bodice, putting the yoke in the back. I have a
problem with wearing anything up near the front neck, and it worked well for
me.
Hope this helps.
