Betsy, I didn't realize it but apparently there are two different
Bernina low shank adapters, designed for different model Berninas. They
are pictured at the bottom of this page, with an explanation of which
one goes with which Berninas:

The one I have for my 1230 is the first one shown. Apparently it's the
one you would need for your 1000, too.
