Well----here I am, halfway through a 20 bib project. The customer
picked out a red canvas weave, and it looks GREAT with an Italian chef
embroidered on it. I will finish the embroidery tomorrow.

My plan was to overcast the edges with a short stitch on the serger,
but that is not working out too well. The red shows through the black
overcasting pretty badly, and the stitch is as short as it will go. I
need to finish these darn things............

Shall I try a narrow black bias tape? Or shall I buy some matching red
thread and overcast with it, figuring it will not look funny if the
canvas shows through a little?? Bias binding will be pretty
expensive.........a lot more than thread.

These are good size bibs for a big spaghetti dinner. They have a dip
for a "neckline" and the embroidery. Ribbon will work fine for ties
around the neck.

Is the black edge going to do that much for them?

Thanks in advance for ideas, suggestions, and sympathy! LOLOL

Pat,
Did you try something like Decor 6 or pearl rayon or pearl cotton thread
to do your edge. You might need that type of thread to have your
stitches fill in more.I like to use that type of thread to put a pretty
edge on my white muslin curtains.
