The Royal Palaces website is having fun with Henry VIII this year... In
fact, so is any place with any even vague connection to Henry or any of
his wives. It's the 500th aniversary of his accession this year.
So A friend on a renaissance board found this, and I thought I'd try it
out:

The boys haven't been left out, either:

Right now I'm about half way through a green cotton version of the
kirtle. Pix to go up later when I get the skirt finished. Meanwhile,
I'm doing a dress diary for a LJ community:

That looks like fun, Kate. Nice to see you have room to lay it out and
cut, and even a bed for the quilt inspector.

Back in the sixties, I worked out an elaborate plan for the tourist
board of the State of Hawaii to dig out an elderly descendant of
Kamehameha. (Elderly to start with so you have more coronations;
also you're pretty sure his character is set, and if he does start
misbehaving, you can blame it on senility.) (Also, someone who has
already retired will think that room, board, and medical care is good
pay.)
Unfortunately, I'm not only not on the tourist board, I'm not at all
sure Hawaii has one.
