On the whole, I quite like Butterick, and have had good results from
their patterns. The bits seem to be reasonably well drafted, with not
too many ill-fitting bits. Just take care with the measuring (buy to
measurements rather than a dress size), and make a muslin/toile if you
will be using expensive or scarce fabric. Particularly measure the
sleeves if you have heavy upper arms, and be aware that all ladies
patterns are designed for a B cup. If you are bigger or smaller, you
may need to make a different size from that suggested by the bust
measurement, and make an adjustment.
