For the lining of the new velvet vest I have on hand:
2 yards of 60" 97% cotton 3% Lycra cotton sateen, lovely
stuff
1.5 yards of 54" 100% silk Duchesse satin, dull sheen,
gorgeous
5 yards 45" 100% silk charmeuse to be underlined with 100%
rayon fusible interfacing. (Bought these at thaisilks.com
just to experiment.)
I'm going to make a test swatch of the charmeuse-rayon
fusible and see how I like the resulting hand. I'll also do
an abrasion and pull tests on swatches of all of the above.
The charmeuse by itself is wonderful, if I don't use it for
lining, I'll make a blouse...or three. I probably have
enough lining to last awhile. ;-)
Beverly, pretty sure I'm going to die with the largest stash

You may not, if I don't get busy. First, the covers for DS's guitars, all
11, and then the Dorothy(Wizard of OZ dress) for DGD; plus finish the sewing
begun for the great-grand nieces-twins, crib sheets, receiving blankets & a
few cloth books for them and a cousin of theirs who is already 10-months.
I'm like Larisa, I do need to do some sewing for myself in between all these
other things, plus for the DGD, who is due in 2 months.

Oh, can't I be in the running? I collected fabric for 2 years in the
states and brought it back to my already full sewing room. Plus, I have had
no time to sew for about 3 months! I am hoping to use quite a bit of it
before I die, however.

Everyone here is in the running!!! ;-) I don't know why I
keep buying additional fabric when I have so much already in
the stash.
