I have a jacket which is very fancy, having hundreds of glued-on
crystals. I have worn it several times and it has become soiled
around the inside of the neckline. What would be the best way to
clean just the neck keeping in mind that it cannot be dry cleaned
because of the crystals. All parts of the jacket are washable, but I
don't want to just dunk it in water...just clean the inside of the
neck.

I'm sure someone with more expertise will be along with a better
suggestion soon, but I think I would try cornstarch on it. What you see
is oil, like that in your hair. In the past, invalids had their hair
cleaned with cornstarch, by working it into the hair, then brushing it
out thoroughly. It might work on the inside of the neck on the jacket,
and wouldn't affect the color or hand of the fabric.

What kind of fabric are your jackets made from? Do your jackets have
glued-on crystals?
