Somehow between fitting DGD for the green vest *yesterday*
(using the satin lining as a toile) and again today before
putting needle to velveteen, she grew 1/2" longer in the CF.
I suppose it's possible the steam pressing shrank the cotton
velveteen by that much. :-( Fortunately, I have plenty of
fabric, so I'll re-cut the front and side front. Sure glad
I checked before putting more work into it.

However, I do have two more shirts finished, and everything
I want to take is clean and pressed. And the Slinky arrived
from denverfabrics.com a few minutes ago. It's in the
washer on cool right now, so I should be able to get the
dressy pants done for the trip. Now to start packing,

Beverly, who is determined to take only what is absolutely
necessary. Yeah, right! ;-}

What pattern are you using and what color will they be.

I ordered two lengths of black Slinky, sadly the plain one

I am making Palazzo pants, using Simplicity #4145

but with the following alterations:

Sized down a little, as pattern is for woven and this is
stretch fabric.
Raised waist to natural waistline and added casing for
elastic, also making the waist same size as the hip
measurement so they are pull-on pants.
And I already have a perfectly altered pants pattern right
now, so I basically laid the good pattern over #4145 to be
sure about crotch depth, etc.

I'm testing various threads and needles on the serger to be
sure I don't chew this stuff up.
