So, the client is still on vacation out of the country (lucky her!)
but the cushions were done and I needed my space back. I called the
couple who are doing LOTS of work on the remodel and who are going ot
be managing the restaurant and they said I could bring them over,
which I did last night. Apparently Kim (owner) didn't bother telling
them that she had gone wiht my suggestion to make the extra long
cushion into 2 smaller ones (for cheaper, easier repair if needed),
and that threw them for a little bit.
Tony asked me where I was on the valances and I just looked at him
like he was an idiot because Kim (again, the owner!) said not to worry
about the valances right now but to definitely get the cushions
finished. SInce we don't have enough fabric for full valances and she
doesn't have the window hardware yet, I wasn't going to start on the
valances until she and I had a chance to sit down and talk (she won't
be back until Tuesday with a "soft opening" on Wednesday and a grand
re-opening on Friday). He just didn't get it. So I just told him,
bluntly, that I don't have a contract signed for the work on the
valances and I'm not going to start work on them until I do and until
I have full payment for the cushions and a deposit on the valance
work. That apparently got through.
Sheesh!! Apparently I'm supposed to be a miracle worker here....ah
well, they are done and I will have pictures up sometime this weekend
(I hope) provided the storm weather we ares supposed to get doesn't do
anything to the power/internet.
Larisa, who hasn't done a dang bit of seing at all today (unless you
count running elastice into casings as actual sewing work)

thanks!
Pictures of the cushions, the hidden zipper pulls, and in their place
at the restaurant can be seen here:

first picture should be of 3 pairs of flannel "duckie" pants for
DD....then all the cushions, and probably in reverse order than what I
stated.

Thanks all!
Today I discovered one of the bad side effects of the latest
job..apparently when I hit the cording 1 too many times, I dinged my
throat plate...to the point that the bobbin thread was getting cut

<sigh>. Went to local repair place and thought we might have found a
match, but no such luck. She will only grind down the nick in a full
service, however, so my trusty Kenmore is now packed up. SInce it 18
years old and has never been to the shop, now seems like a good time.
Good thing I have the EuroPro as a back up!! I had to relearn all
about it, though because I haven't used it in a while. Now the 2 of
us are getting alond quite well and as long as I remember to only use
the plastic bobbins, we shouldn't have any problems. Kenmore goes to
the shop next week and hopefully will be done by the end of the week -
all cleaned up and tensions readjusted and NO nicks in anything!!
