I have just purchased a couple GREAT FIT Patterns used (from around
1990), and they seem to be nice patterns, strangely made in that they
are somewhat modular and have to be taped together in certain places to
make pants long or to change the style of the pattern (example: shorts
use one piece, capri length is a different piece, and long pants are
yet another different piece). This doesn't deter from the style or the
sizing; it's just a different approach. I ask because some of these
patterns seem to come all the way up to size 60 and would be great for
those people larger than myself (OTR 16-22 depending on the cut and
style).

Does anyone know what happened to GREAT FIT? I have looked for them on
line, but to know avail. Any ideas?

They went out of business quite a while back. I loved them, too.

Too bad! I am only a "medium" in their pattern sizes (good for the
ego), and they modular concept seems to be the easiest thing to work
with since the multisized pattern. I guess we will have to live with
what is out there, but it is still a loss to anyone larger that a
pattern size 24.

By the way, have you ever tried a Silhouette Pattern? Are they good?

I know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but others in this
group have mentioned the Modern Sewing/Lekala pattern company. I
understand they use software to generate customized patterns that you
can print out yourself or have them mail to you. This may be of
interest to you, since one is not limited to common sizes or
measurements.

There's also Dress Shop (holding nose), Pattern Master Boutique (See? I
can be fair and not list my favorite first? LOL), Patternmaker,
Cochenille Design Studio, etc.
