Or, even if you know about them. What is your opinion of them?

I bought one about five years ago but never used it until a few weeks
ago. It straight stitches beautifully. And, I did have it
overcasting very nicely also. Just yesterday, it decidedit only
wanted to straight stitch and it jams with every other stitch
pattern. The straight stitch tensions are perfect. I changed the
needle to a brand new one. I took out the bobbin and re-inserted it
and rethreaded the whole shebang but nothing worked.

Any suggestions?

I still have my old reliable Singer that is pretty limited on stitch
patterns.

I have a Euro-Pro Model 9106. I bought it in April,
2004. It has been a great machine. I haven't had
any trouble wit it. Have done lots of sewing and quilting
on it. As for your problem, maybe clean out the bobbin
holder and then turn the machine off and on. Hope this
helps.

Ron Anderson, our resident sewing machine guru, has said that they
aren't bad machines, but that repair parts for them are not available.
So they're fine for as long as they last, then they're landfill.

The old reliable Singers, on the other hand, just keep on keeping on,
and there are repair parts in the surprisingly few instances when they
are needed. If your old Singer is one of the pre-plastic era ones,
there's little that can go wrong that can't be fixed with a minor
adjustment.

Hi,

Thank you for your response to my sewing machine problem. I packed
the darned thing up and put it away in a closet and some day will most
likely toss it. I brought out my 31-year-old gear driven Singer which
still runs beautifully.
