Fabric just out of the dying process...
Started as snow-white mercerised cotton.
Threw it in on a quick wash to get the dressing out and remove any
storage dust...
Threw it in on the cotton wash set at 40 to dye it... With dye and
salt, natch.
Flung some powder in and gave it a full 40 wash as per my usual clothing
program... Followed with extra rinse program... Mind you, it was fun
to see the washer fill up with pink merringue! :D
Bright sun outside, and the dye destructions say not in full sunlight,
so have reluctantly tossed it in the dryer...
It's SUPPOSED to be a sort of deep pinkish red, called Burlesque Red.
Looks a bit darker than the packet, getting on for a sort of damson jam
colour. Very pretty, mind. And this is with rather more fabric than
one pack of dye ought to do. Very nice result, even so. I shall send
madam a snippet, but I have no doubt she'll love it.
This dying stuff in the washer is fun.
NOT looking forward to pressing the stuff, not in this heat! I shall
leave it until tonight, I think.
