I started the muslin of my anniversary outfit. It has princess seams
to the shoulder. I'm trying to decided the best way to clean finish the
edges. I'm not all that confident to just do the seams on the serger.
Getting that bust line curve throws me a little. If I sew the seams with
a straight stitch, then press the seams to the outside and then serge
should that work. Or should I do something entirely different like
French seams. I'm really puzzled about what will look best.My finished
product will be in rayon.

I often serge the edges of seams before sewing them with the
sewing machine. The serged edge is done easier before
sewing the seam IMHO, and you can press the seam(s) open.

I had considered that but, I'm being a slave to directions to get
everything to go together just right. Click and Sew construction sheets
say to sew a line of stay stitching on the side front pieces and clip in
the area of the dots you use to match it up to the front piece at the
curve. If I finish th edges on the serger and then clip isn't my serged
edge doing to unravel or at least be messy.

Clip it *before* serging, and make sure the clips fan open
while you run it through the serger. I'd put up some pics,
but I have to leave for DDs we're having a trip-details
planning party. ;-)
