I live out in the "sticks" and there are no fabric stores anywhere near
me. I love living in the country, but am feeling deprived of some of
the perks of living in/near large cities. The only way I can find
fabrics is to search on the internet. So, I'm wondering what may be
favorite fabric websites of the folks who visit this group. So far, I
have visited www.FabricbytheYard, www.denverfabrics, www.spandexhouse.
Please, share with me and the other readers your favorite sites.
Thank you.
Cheryl

I have ordered several times from them and been pleased.

hands down, my favorite is www.fabric.com

Like Jean, I've ordered from them...well more times than I will admit. ;)
I've always been pleased. In the many, many orders I've placed, only twice
have they sent me the wrong stuff. Both times, they told me to keep what I
was shipped in error, and they sent me what I actually ordered without
charging me anything extra. Many times I've had a question about something,
and they can always clear it up with a quick phone call. They couldn't be
nicer people if they tried. :)

Close second is www.sewsassy.com They carry dance, lingerie, swimwear type
fabrics. Again, they could not be nicer if they tried. That's an area I've
not done a TON of sewing in, so I always have questions. The staff is very
knowledgeable, and patient with (what have to be) really dumb questions. ;)

Now, my favorite brick and mortar store sells online also. That's
www.baerfabrics.com It's a WONDERFUL store. A 3 story building that's a
city block long and wide. *sigh* If you're ever in Louisville, KY, worth
stopping in. (leave your credit cards at home if you don't have will power.
lol)

Oh, one more fun online fabric store is www.trimfabric.com Wander through
the discount fabrics, and fabrics by the bolt section. Get comfy first, you
will be there a while. Ordered from them several times, always been
pleased.

If you want trims, buttons, etc. Try www.cheeptrims.com Again. Get comfy.
You will be there a while. I've always been very pleased with price and
quality from them, just wish they would ship faster.

Sharon
---who could go on and on, but those are my favorites.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and just annoys the
pig.

Another nice website is Sew Baby (http://www.sewbaby.com/index.html),
especially for stretch knits. It's not just baby fabric, though the bulk
of the fabric is geared towards babies and children. Some good deals on
clearance fabrics. And a website that is often mentioned on the quilting
group is eQuilter http://www.equilter.com/. I personally haven't ordered
from them, but people in the quilting group have reported good luck with
using them and they do have a wide selection of fabrics (some very
tempting, very beautiful fabrics!).
