My niece finally brought the two pair of (laundered) pants
she wanted hemmed last week, and funnily enough one pair was
NOT the pair she originally brought over (the ones which
were IMHO a good length to begin with), but rather a pair of
tan cords and dark jeans.
I had my sister over for dinner last night, so I hemmed both
pair yesterday so DS could pick them up to deliver to her
DD.
Back to sewing for DGD and me. ;-)

Yay!!!
Glad you got those done and don't have to worry with them any more. ;)

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and just annoys the
pig.

I was starting to think she had washed them and they
shrank-to-fit. ;-}

Well, not quite yet. A couple of weeks ago younger DD and I
went out for lunch and did some shopping. She found some
really pretty Ts in several colors, with an interesting
keyhole neck detail. So she bought five, one in every
color. However, she is a scant 5'2", so RTW shirts are too
long for her. I just finished hemming them all using the
coverstitch machine, which is a b***h to thread. She owns
me big time. ;-)
Beverly, NOW back to sewing for DGD and me....

I understand what you mean, Beverly. I bought the Pfaff 4872, with the
coverstitch, because I thought it would be perfect for hemming things; but
with the difficulty, I continue to use a twin-needle straight stitch on the
regular machine, with wooly nylon in the bobbin. So what if it isn't a real
cover stitch, it works for me, and my DDIL & cousin don't complain.
