Or, scope out a local shop with various styles and have the
client try different ones on. Usually, an image in a three
way mirror is much more convincing than all the
"suggestions" made by a sewist.
I had a client who fell in love with a bridal gown style she
saw on a favorite actress. She "HAD TO HAVE IT!" When she
tried on gowns (at several shops) prior to making a decision
on what I would create for her, she was alarmed at how awful
that particular style looked *on her*. She found a much
more flattening gown and I replicated it for her.
