Little Miss M came over today to help make a Little Red Riding Hood
costume. She's 7 and never used a sewing machine before. I had cut out
the Cape for her ahead of time and she did all the seams and pressing. I
attached the hod for her and ran quilt binding around all the outside
edges. I have never seen a child her age use a sewing machine so well
the first time. I gave her lots of scraps to sew, on her own, while I
was pressing the binding and cutting out her brother's Superman Cape.
I'll put up pictures next week. Her brother, Little Mr M wanted to know
if his poppa knows how to sew I told him no, He said I think you better
teach him how.

That's wonderful!!! You can tell her I'm really proud of her too. And yeah,
let's get Poppa in the sewing room too. If you can manage to get him
hooked on sewing, he won't ever complain about going to the fabric store
with you. ;) LOL

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and just annoys the
pig.

She was very pleased with her accomplishment. Poppa will never try the
sewing machine. It's a power tool and he isn't a power tool person. No
way, no how.lol :)

How about a treadle or handcrank machine? Both are "people-powered."

Now that is the truth.

I had to rein myself on fabric store visits. The ladies knew me,
my schedule, my projects.
I would burn an hour easy just looking for ideas and stash deals.
