I've got one of those, too. 14 years old, 6'1", 165 pounds and an
entirely excellent kid.

We went down to the Riverfront to listen to "Live on the Levee", a
charity concert, and dragged our lawn chairs along, knowing that sitting
on the concrete stairs, with no back support and knees higher than your
hips, is pure torture. There was a woman about my age, sitting on the
steps with her husband directly in front of us and she was obviously
hurting. I've got a bad back myself and my son is entirely familiar
with the characteristic shifts and stretches trying to relieve it, and
with no prompting at all, he hopped out of his chair and offered the
lady his seat, which she accepted with gratitude.

At tournaments he can be found patiently sharing his video games and
magazines with younger kids, helping the vendors set up or shagging
balls for short-handed teams. It cracks me up to see him strolling by
with some old broad on his arm, usually somebody who's literally watched
him grow up, chatting away.

When his three best female friends had roles in the school play, on
opening night he rode his bike to the store and bought roses to give to
each of them.

I suspect he will never lack for female companionship.
