Hi, I am interested in producing a product made from a thick,
canvas-like material, and I am trying to find some information where I
might have it made. I think it might require a heavy duty sewing
machine to go through a couple of layers of the material. What type of
business would I look for to assist with this? I'm not even sure where
to begin. Industrial sewing services? Any advice is welcome!

thanks!

Have you considered a place where they work on upholstery repair and
fabrication?

You are looking for a contract sewing facility.
You might also want to look for this book, which will help you develop your
product and tell you how to find the services you'll need

The Entrepenuer's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing by Kathleen Fasanella.

I can assure you that an upholstery shop, while having the right machines,
may not be the best place to have production work done.

Perhaps a sail maker would be the choice. PAT
