That's actually a fairly good guide. There has been a lot of abuse of
the term "Industrial Strength" sewing machine.

Not sure what the writer considers my Singer 111W155, but I'd call it
"better than average for sewing heavy things".

That's a true industrial machine, built for upholstery and other heavy
work. The type this warning essay is aimed at is the normal Singer Type
15 and all the clones, and other similar machines. This sort of ad:

Heck Kate, that machine has new red felts on it. That alone
has to make it worth at least $150. ; ) Who buys this stuff?
The photo is not taken at a good angle to see the machine
condition too well but clearly there are a lot of dings on the
front edge. Sheesh.
