Um, yes? But I count, too... ;-}

Well how about something that plays nicely with burgundy, like a navy
blue or deep forest green?

My kind of thinking! I love those colors together. The
sheets in question are a paisley of all those colors, and I
finally tossed the bottom sheet, but still use the upper and
the pillowcases with a burgundy fitted sheet. A forest
green stripe around the bottom would work nicely. ;-)

I had a carpet custom made for my entry hall, with a
burgundy background and navy and forest green accents in a
geometric pattern. These folks http://www.nwrugs.com/ have
a special-order book, I selected the colors and patterns and
the carpet was made up exactly as I wanted. NAYY

OK, now I am ROFLMAO. Beverly has a custom-made rug, but is piecing
together bits of old sheets to cover her bed. Am I the only one who
sees a certain disconnect between these? It reminds me of a friend with
a house in Rancho Santa Fe who loves to shop at Big Lots and garage sales.

I'm so glad I could relive the tedium of your day-to-drab
existence. ;-> The carpet for the entry hall is smallish,
just 4.5 X 7 feet, and it didn't cost the earth. I probably
could have selected one of their ready-made carpets, but the
idea of having a one-of-a-kind one appealed to me.

That's the result of having been raised by parents who
struggled during the Great Depression. Certain money-saving
habits never go away. And besides, they are "older" sheets,
not "old". If I could buy new replacement parts that
matched I would do that.

I *LOVE* Big Lots. :-) However, I steer clear of garage
sales, I have too much "used stuff" already. :-
